my freebie is gone. over winter break i found a usb portable memory stick thingy and even though it had a small storage capacity, it served me very well. a couple weeks ago i had it plugged into a laptop. when i set down the laptop, i didn't realize the device was being pushed, so the insertable usb part, (let's call it the 'head'), became warped. it was wobbly, i was very nervous about it, but it still worked. last night though, when i unplugged it into my pc, the head remained in my pc while i held onto the main body--it finally broke and separated itself. i still had files on the device so i held the two parts together and the power light flickered. i couldn't hold it steady, the slightest movement would disconnect the power. however, i was able to hold it steady long enough to copy all my files to the pc. several weeks ago, before the accident i did try to buy a different usb storage device with more capacity at costco during a sale they were having, but they had run out. the store was supposed to call me when they were back in stock but they still have yet to. i will look into this today.
