welcome back to the web [geeking]

now that i have free time, i'm working on updating the many web pages i abandoned while i was engaged in academic pursuits. for my personal pages, i want a whole new design. the current design spawned off an idea i had as a teenager--it really is time for a new look! starting in high school i used to draw a very stick figure kitty paw as my symbol, being that my initials are 'mew'. the other day i came up with another symbol, completely unconsciously. that is what i like about the new symbol, that it was created in the surrealist tradition. but at the same time, i have sort of a brand recognition issue: to use this new design may be awkward and not representative of the product (me). then again, anyone can draw a kitty paw, whereas this symbol has a more unique quality to it. but since it is abstract, how will the connection be made? hmmm, it is puzzling. perhaps the new symbol is the thing to go with. after all, the kitty paw is based on my initials which is based on what my parents named me--the link may be too far. this new symbol came straight from my inner being...and it is time for a change. speaking of change, i'm dying to get a haircut, a completely different look, but am afraid to surrender my head to a professional and pay for something i might be unhappy with.
