when my lunch break was over, i started walking back to my office. i pass several vending machines on my way. walking down the hall, the machines are around the corner and when i hear activity, i hope that it is someone i do not know so that i do not have to make small talk. i heard change dropping from the machine but when i got to the vending machines, no one was there. i took a look at the first machine (beverages), no change. i look at the second machine (snacks), change! i pocketed 35 cents.

when i left work on my way to class, i decided to buy a bottle of water. i inserted exact change, pressed the button for water, and picked up the bottle. while i was picking it up, i noticed the head of another bottle. i reached for it: another water bottle, lucky! i just saved $1.
