my mom sent me a curry packet a long time ago and i finally made it for dinner. actually, it was two packets and i only made one. i put off making it because i think i had my share of curry when i lived in japan and i never really liked it to begin with so i wanted to give it another chance all these years later. what i didn't realize before i started making it was that it was the "hot" packet, not mild. i put it on top of some very bland rice to help balance the flavor. man, that was some pretty spicy curry. all i could taste was the spice. i've ate hotter things but only painfully hotter. this is definitely not something i would buy on my own. eating an apple afterwards sure helped cool my mouth.
