somewhere over the slaughterhouse [listening]

i just got back from seeing buckethead and giant robot. it was short but good, even funny. my day even ended with a weird hippie moment. after the show, there was this crazy hippie guy waiting to get buckethead's autograph. i won't say all the crazy things about him--just that he had all of us hanging out laughing our asses off. even the security was laughing at his antics. at one point, i saw him trying to touch his head with his feet.

it was raining today so we left much later than usual for a show. plus, it was in santa cruz so i could pretty much leave whenever i wanted to and be on time. when we got there, they were already letting people in. we still ended up in the very front. only two people were at the front. during the show, people were pretty tame for the most part. of course when buckethead gave away toys, it was a bit chaotic. people love freebies. after that, this hippie kept trying to get in front past me and bring her friends with her. no fucking way. even her friends were telling her to back off, that she wasn't gonna get in front. she should've listened to her friends. she kept trying, but she lost.

during the show i took some pictures. i recorded using mini disc to test out the new player. i'll listen to it tomorrow. i got a set list. overall i think i did pretty well. after the show, we waited in the back area, hoping to get buckethead to sign some stuff. after waiting for awhile in the rain, buckethead gave us a little present: an encore performance. he stood in the backstage doorway and played several country and classical tunes on the banjo. he's just as awesome on the banjo as on the guitar. in total, there was about a dozen fans waiting about 1 hour for buckethead but we all left when everything was packed up and the roadies drove off. apparently buckethead left through the front entrance shortly after playing the banjo.
