i once had a friend from new mexico [thinking]

san francisco has inspired others not just in verbage but in action. a clerk in sandoval county, new mexico found nothing in the state laws against same-sex marriage, so she began issuing licenses. it's a big hoopla with emergency meetings being held, etc. the attorney general is pissed and ordered her to cease.

these are sparks. soon the fire.

with all that's going on, of course bush is really pushing for laws to only authorize hetero marriages. i think this will help to accelerate the fire. a fire starter.

more civil rights in the 2000s are to come?

hmm, perhaps same-sex marriage will be legal in america even before americans are allowed to legally travel to cuba!
