cheers to new york [thinking]

cheers to new paltz, new york for their mayor taking a stand against ultra conservatives, performing same-sex marriage ceremonies and issuing certificates.

today i came across a piece in the new york times arguing that it is up to conservatives to make the moral case for marriage, including gay marriage. for that reason, i found it interesting because it approaches the issue from a different angle. it's definitely not how i would tackle the subject, but it's interesting to get a view inside how the mind of conservatives operate.

the approach to the issue of gay marriage that i often come across is demonstrated in another piece that i read a long time ago.
