a very santa cruz weekend [living]

the strangeness continued through today. we went to have a late breakfast back at the catalyst, the venue buckethead played at, so that we could ask to have a buckethead poster promoting the show that was hanging in the 'lobby'. it took forever to find parking. there were so many very santa cruz looking people walking and blocking the streets, making it harder to drive. i wish i had a camera with me because i just can't describe this santa cruz look well enough. it's like part homeless, part hippie, part punk, part nomad.

when we got there, we saw that already two of them were gone. i noticed a third poster. we asked two different workers if we could have it, but they each said that they don't have a key to unlock the glass case that the posters are in. they also each referred us to a different person who has the key and to come back or call them. i hope we can get it but we'll see.

while we were eating, a small band was playing. naturally, many people walking past heard the music and peered in through the windows out of curiosity. an old man walked in and went straight to in front of the band. the band then started playing hava nagila very fast and the man started dancing a crazy old man jig. it was pretty fun. then the band continued with their song and the man walked out.
