kim novak in person in hollywood [watching]

i got an email from my brother saying that he was watching cnn and learned that kim novak would be on larry king live tonight. he must've sent that email a little too late at night 'cos when i looked at cnn's web site, it turns out that kim novak was on larry king live last night. amazingly, there was already a transcript posted. kim was doing a rare interview in order to promote a rare appearance she will be making at a screening of "vertigo" in LA on january 17th at the egyptian theater. for 2-3 days they will also screen other kim novak films. what a treat. when "vertigo" was restored and re-released in 1996, she made an appearance at the castro theater in san francisco. i wanted to go but didn't. no, i don't know what i was thinking either!

my friend will be getting married the weekend of the screening so i will be in LA. i would love to go see kim novak on the big screen and in person. here is my chance to make up for missing out before! however, the screening date/time is exactly the same as the wedding.

while i was in LA for the holidays, i glanced at the egyptian theater because it is across the street from the chinese theater. i like art deco and both of these movie theaters are famous for their style. i have never been inside these theaters and at that moment, i decided that when i live in LA again i will attend all of the old theaters still operating in hollywood.
