last night we went to see fobia in concert at club monaco in sunnyvale. i don't really like this club but it's much better than the place rock en español shows used to take place at a couple years back. they advertised that doors were to open at 9pm but even though it was raining, they didn't open the doors until it was much closer to 10pm. the last time we were here, it was to see cafe tacuba and the show didn't go on until about after midnight. i knew that this was probably going to be the case again with fobia.

fobia hit the stage shortly after 12:20am. they played for about 50-55 minutes. then there were a few encores. there really wasn't anything spectacular about the show. i think this is the last of my beloved rock en español bands that i had not seen in concert. fobia broke up years ago and apparently have recently come back together to play some shows. they will also be releasing a best of disc with 2 new tracks. since i had never seen them, i couldn't stand it if i missed this opportunity. however, after seeing them live now, i feel like my opinion of the band has deflated. overall, i give the performance a "B".
