museum of crap art [traveling]

today we got up a bit earlier and headed down to the chinese theater to have a quick look around and find david bowie's star on the walk of fame. i couldn't help but notice michael jackson's star. while flipping through the family albums at my mom's house, i happened upon a picture of me 14 years ago, posing at mj's star. if i hadn't seen that photo, i wouldn't have remembered taking it at all. well, when i saw mj's star, i just had to retake that picture.

then we went to the museum of contemporary art, downtown. the collection was a lot smaller than i remember it. now it is split into 3 locations. i don't remember if it was split when i went 6-7 years ago. we also visited the little tokyo location. i clearly remember some pieces that we did not see at all this time. i don't know if they are housed at the third location or if they were removed, temporarily or permanently. there was a huge ass frank gehry showing at the downtown location. it could be that the pieces i remember are temporarily on hold in order to showcase the gehry works.

while in little tokyo, we decided to look around some shops. however, it was getting late and many were starting to close. so we went back to my mom's house where she had chinese takeout waiting for us.

then we continued the kim novak marathon with "the amorous adventures of moll flanders". this isn't a very good film so we stopped it halfway through in favor of "memento" and "finding nemo".
