me and my shadow [traveling]

last night, or this morning i should say, heliosphan and i stayed up talking until 5am, or rather i kept heliosphan up talking until 5am. hahahahahhaaaaa... needless to say, we weren't able to get up early to do a lot of things.

in the late afternoon, i had several friends come over, (mmm, there were 5.5 of us total), which should have been strange since they don't really know each other, but i think it went quite well. we decided to go to dave & buster's in orange. some of us had been wanting to go for a long time but never got around to it until now. it was pretty fun. we had dinner, then played several multi-player games, then played billiards, followed by more arcade games. i ended the evening by playing three games in a row that require more physical action than the average arcade games. two of these games required upper body movement. sometimes when you see kids play arcade games, they are so animated and move their bodies as if their movements had an effect on the character's movements. these games i played however do require such movement. if you duck, your character ducks. if you turn to the right, your character turns to the right. this was done without a virtual reality helmet. one of them was a boxing game, the other was a shooter game. after that, i played a horseracing game where i was the jockey. you actually sit on a little toy horse and rock it in order for the horse in the game to move. there were buttons to whip the horse. i didn't want to whip the horse. i was loosing bad and the screen said i should whip the horse. so i did. i still came in dead last. i guess i just don't have the horse thing down.

after dave & buster's we went back to my mom's house and continued the kim novak movie marathon with "strangers when we meet".
