i would go out tonight but [listening]

all dressed up and no one to fuck
last night i went to the shittiest club i have ever been to. i'm not even going to say the name. it's supposed to be two clubs, one room 80s new wave/alternative stuff, another room is goth/industrial. well it was pretty much hip hop/house/techno type of crap. it seems it was some kind of record showcase. when we got there, there were some asian rappers. it was so crap i was gonna walk out but i thought maybe the club hasn't really started yet, even though it's been open for 1 hour. after their set, the dj played one ministry song (get up and dance!), then some crap songs (sit back down!). then a pseudo goth band went on stage. they only dressed the part, poorly (too fat to be vampires). some songs were ok, but mostly they were not. hmmm, reminds me of the cure! (not musically) after their set was more crap music from the dj. i didn't stick around for the 3rd band. i apologized to my friend that i picked a horrible place and told her next time i will not scoff at the hollywood clubs. i thought a small place like the one we went to would be nice for the intimate setting, however i picked one in buttfuck county. this is probably the only club for all these kids so they have to cater to as wide an audience as possible in order to make enough money to keep it going.
[update 12/1/03: ok ok, so it was really bugging me and i had to find out the names of the bands i saw at the shitty club. i searched and found them. the goth one was veer chasm. i downloaded some clips off their site and it's not bad at all. i think the horrible club sound system hid all their good parts. maybe this is just another example of good studio band, bad live band. and yes, in the studio they do sound like the cure!]
