work is a four letter word [working]

the one thing i really hate about my job is that i have to schedule meetings between a visitor and members of the department i work at. this doesn't sound so bad but i have to schedule 2 visitors a week and it's rare that anyone wants to meet with them. i'm often scrambling at the last minute, desperate to find someone who will meet with the visitor. when the schedule isn't ready, people get pissed. i understand that but it'd be nice if there were more volunteers so there were less scheduling problems. today's visitor is the worst scheduling experience i have had here and i've worked at this place for 3.5 years. the whole matter causes too much of a headache. i don't think we should bother with this visitor thing anymore but it's part of the curriculum.
