kennedy [watching]
my friend said that she has never seen the assassination footage of john f. kennedy, jr. i was pretty surprised, but then again, she hasn't seen a lot of things that most people have so it shouldn't be surprising but i once went to a kennedy elementary school so i have a childhood affection for jfk, which makes it a little bit harder for me to grasp that someone has yet to see the jfk assassination footage. i rented "jfk" so my friend could have a sense of what was going on, what people thought about it, and of course the footage played over and over and over again.
i first saw "jfk" when it was released in the theatres and have not seen it since. i think that when i first saw it, i thought it was good. but kevin costner really grates on you so now i think it's just alright. i'm not into vietnam films or war films in general. i'm not into the 60s or the whole oliver stone vibe, but i know he's an important director so i think i will be renting his other conspiracy/60s/vietnam films. it will be a breath of fresh air from my usual viewing habits.
