guilt trip [watching]

i rented several movies and tonight watched "boat trip". i don't know what it is but there's something about cuba gooding, jr. that i don't like. maybe it's because he's done a disney film. i don't know. i just can't place my finger on what it is. perhaps he reminds me of someone i no longer remember. i can't figure it out. (i looked up his acting credits. he was in "boyz 'n the hood". hmm, i can't really recall too much but maybe it was that i didn't like his character? it's been awhile since i've seen the film.)

like "juwanna mann", there were some moments of "boat trip" where i thought topics of other sexualities could be approached in a thoughtful discussion but it just never happened. what i did find interesting was a segment of the film that could have very much turned into the ending of "some like it hot". it was a moment when lloyd, the older rich man, was hitting on nick and he just won't back down. i would have liked to see an eventual hookup. after all, "nobody's perfect".

overall, the film wasn't that funny. just a couple of smirks, no laughs. not worth it for a rental. i should've just waited until it was on cable. but it's always nice to see roselyn sanchez.
