the matrix reloaded [watching]

i saw "the matrix reloaded" shortly after it was released. it was alright but would have been good if they had done some editing and it would have been great if the creators had worked it out a bit more before making some decisions to include things completely unnecessary. tonight i went to san francisco so that i could see it at an imax theater. the imax screen is so big (75.6 ft x 97.6 ft) that it is like sitting too close to the television. my eyes began to hurt and it felt like the film was slightly out of focus. in addition to that minor annoyance, everything that i didn't like about the film was amplified so i didn't enjoy the matrix imax experience as much as i thought i would. i started to focus on superficial elements of the film. i still feel like it would have been more interesting for me if they had made a matrix 1.5, so that we could have gotten a glimpse at how things changed once neo was in the picture. however, i am looking forward to later in the fall as the final installment of two trilogies will be released: "matrix" in november and "lord of the rings" in december.
