so gina gershon is in a movie, "prey for rock n' roll", and apparently some alumni from ucsc directed or produced it or something like that. (actually the semi-autobiography pic was written by a person who calls santa cruz home.) it has made its way around film festivals. it even played at the santa cruz film festival and that's a pretty small festival. in the film, gershon plays a rock n' roller who hasn't broken into the industry yet and she is aging so there is a fear that the big break may never happen. this film has brought gershon's musical side out in front. in promotion for the film, she has played with rockers like camp freddy and will even do a brief jaunt around the usa with members from girls against boys as the supporting musicians. a hollywood celebrity rocking out on stage? i couldn't resist. i bought tickets to the san francisco show, which will happen a few days after school begins. this show will be my farewell to summer.
