cooking with old food by old folks [reading]

grey bears are a respected seniors for seniors group in the community. my former boss who's remained a friend is an active volunteer with them. they put together a cookbook as part of a fundraiser. she said they needed some help typing and so forth so i've been helping out on things here and there. it's great to see that things are going way better than anyone expected. the first order was for 1,100 copies and they sold out quickly and ordered another batch to be printed. it has 599 recipes and you know they are good ones because some of them have been used for generations. common ingredients, easy recipes, cheap cookbook to buy and funds go to a good cause. can't think of a reason not to buy a copy so i did. today i learned that it has received some local press (register-pajaronian). my name is on one of the recipes and it's so strange to think my name is somewhere in a culinary library. whoever would've thought it.
