row ya bastards, row! [working]

kayak.jpg
not exactly my shining moment
today i crossed off another thing off of my "things i've never done list": kayaking. as part of my job function, i help to do this program for undergrads and the professor in charge always takes the kids kayaking. this is the first time i joined them. we went down to moss landing, down by where homer simpson works. we kayaking in pacific water but not in the ocean itself so it was steady, calm water and made for a very enjoyable row. the weather was perfect too. a nice day to kayak. a good, but tiring experience. i've already been out to the beach once this summer with the intent of being in the sun and touching water *gasp* (the first time in years, since 1990 to be exact). that lesson of must use sunblock from earlier this summer wasn't enough because i still got burned. so i'm learning more about the do's and don'ts of outdoors/ocean activities. i just can't get myself to wear short pants....yet.
