i hate going to japanese restaurants with white people [ingesting]
i especially hate it when the cooks and waitresses aren't japanese. they can't spell the names of the food properly nor pronounce it correctly. it really hurts my ears. it's not kamikazI or sakI or any of the other common mistakes people make. how'd you like it if you went into a taqueria and instead of tacos and burritos, they have on the menu "tacks and dorritos"?!?! or if you went into an american joint and they sold homburgers and it came on wonder bread instead of hamburger buns. it's just not cool. i think i go to japanese restaurants when i'm homesick and when the restaurant is not an authentic place in my eyes then it's not a fun experience for me at all. i just sit there criticizing the sloppy use of kanji and artifacts to japanize the place. a marker for me is always, "can they make gyoza right?" fuck that. from now on, if they don't serve 5 different kinds of noodles and have plastic displays of their food right in front, don't even bother walking in! (the shitty japanese restaurants in this town shall remain nameless because YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE YOU GODDAMN PINK TREASURE SAMURAIS!)
