"We are family" should be the theme song of this band as it is
comprised mostly of relatives. Jesús R. Flores (a.k.a.
Chipotle on saxophone) and Ricardo Flores A. (a.k.a. Abulón on
vocals; keyboards) formed a group called Tecnopal with another
musician. Their second release was entitled Victimas del Dr.
Cerebro. After little success and much frustration, the relatives
brought on more family and two non-relatives to form Victimas del
Doctor Cerebro. They gained Arturo Flores A. (a.k.a. Tuco on bass),
Antonio Corona A. (a.k.a. Bruja on drums), Javier Cázares
(a.k.a. Stone Face on guitar), and Daniel Flores (a.k.a. Ranas as
choreographer). There have been member changes but the core members
continue to be Abulón, Chipotle, and Ranas. Their first album
was a playful blend of ska and rock and their sound has evolved to
embrace their goth-industrial-metal influences. Besides the albums
below you can find them on such compilations as 'Silence = Death' AIDS
benefit series (Red Hot and Latin).
Live Factor: Probably the best performance the Calaveras have ever
witnessed. Enormous engery, great use of stage props and presence,
excellent choice in set and performance, and incredibly friendly
members. Every show truly is Halloween.
