Fobia are from Mexico and they seem to have an incredible sense of
humor. We like to think of their sound as The Muppets meets The Cure
as the lyrics and vocals by Leonardo de Lozanne are playful while the
melodic guitar of Paco Huidobro has an alternative 1980s feel to it.
Iñaki adds extra textures to the sound via keyboards and
programming. Gabriel Kuri provided drums and percussion for the first
3 albums and was replayed by Jorge "Chiquis" Amaro on the 4th album.
The band subsequently broke up for a few years and reformed to record
new material. On the side, Chiquis produces such bands as
Victimas del Dr. Cerebro. In
addition to the albums below, they also have a live album.
Live Factor: The Calaveras attended one of the concerts during the
reunion tour and though it was held in an intimate setting, the band
seemed distant. We are very critical of live shows and unfortunately
there was no special spark that night.
