Buck-Tick

Back in the 1980s when Buck-Tick was bursting onto the Japanese rock scene, so was Lä-ppisch. In fact, Toll's band before he was in Buck-Tick appeared on an album with them. Needless to say, these two bands have a long history together. So when one of the members of Lä-ppisch, keyboardist Gen Ueda, was diagnosed with cancer and passed away, various Japanese musicians came together to cover his songs, including Buck-Tick. Sirus - Tribute to Ueda Gen was released on September 24, 2008.

Toll will appear with 3 other drummers at a Jon Bonham (Led Zeppelin) event on September 25 at Koenji Show Boat. The other drummers to appear are Masafumi Minato (Dead End), Koseki Sumitada (session musician), and Masataka Fujikake (various). Tickets are ¥2500 in advance and doors at 7pm/show at 7:30pm.

Lucy will play live on November 3 at Yokohama Blitz with Suiren (Maki Fujii!) and Acid Android. Tickets are ¥5000 and doors at 5pm/show at 6pm.

The new single "Heaven" will be released on December 17. The b-side is "Makka Na Yoru". The limited edition version includes a DVD with a video clip of the single. Regular edition ¥1050, limited edition with DVD ¥1890.

Fish Tank fan club members only concerts to be held on: November 29 at Nagoya Diamond Hall, November 30 at Osaka Nanba Hatch, December 6 at Zepp Tokyo, and December 7 at Yokohama Blitz.

The Day in Question returns this year with 3 shows: December 18 at Kyoto Kaikan Dai Ichi, December 23 at Act City Hamamatsu, and December 29 at Nippon Budoukan. Tickets are ¥6300.

Buck-Tick Zone

October 7 site updates: There's been a few things to say for the news section but I didn't want to update the news page until I had created another manager special for the site. I've simply not had time to do it due to other commitments and working on a couple things for the site. In fact, quite awhile back I created a Buck-Tick widget for Mac OS X but it's just been sitting there, waiting to uploaded to share with everyone. (download the "Today in Buck-Tick History widget" for Mac OS X). It's my first widget so it's not perfect but it'll do for now. In case you didn't know, I am constantly searching the web for more images of tour goods as well as getting a few things for my collection that helps me research this (see Tours). Some of those things that are now part of my collection are various Buck-Tick singles/albums on vinyl, including promo versions. Except for very rare side project stuff, I should now have a copy of everything Buck-Tick has released on vinyl so do check out the Releases section. In personal hurrah news, I'm finally a member of their official fan club Fish Tank so I hope that the news I'll obtain will only make this site richer.
